Cavalor Canada Supports Olympic Dressage Athlete Jacqueline Brooks
July-25-08
In her Olympic debut, Canadian Dressage Team member Jacqueline Brooks will be supported by Cavalor Canada.
Brooks, 40, of Mount Albert, ON, has been selected as one of three athletes to represent Canada in dressage at the 2008 Olympic Games held from August 8-24 in China. Her partner will be Gran Gesto, a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding owned by Brinc Ltd. and Anne Welch. Cavalor Canada is proud to support Brooks and her horses through its extensive product line of feed supplements and nutraceuticals designed to enhance sport horse health and performance.
“I started using Cavalor’s products about two years ago and my horses started performing very well,” said Brooks, who uses CAVALOR products with all of her competition horses. “I certainly noticed a difference in Gran Gesto’s performance – it elevated at the same time I started using the products.”
For an Olympic athlete, the generous support of sponsors plays an integral support in their success, allowing them to focus on training as well as competing at the highest possible level.
“Cavalor Canada was very generous to sponsor me through to the Olympics, allowing me to keep Gran Gesto on the same program,” noted Brooks, a 2003 Pan Am Team Silver Medalist. “Their support is incredibly important. Athletes in Canada are underfunded, so when you do receive sponsorship and support, it helps to achieve your goals. Cavalor Canada is a great team to be a part of, and I am in great company with the other riders that they sponsor.”
In addition to Brooks, Cavalor Canada also supports Canadian Olympic Show Jumping Team members Eric Lamaze and Ian Millar. Two other dressage competitors - two-time Pan Am Individual Bronze medalist Yvonne Losos de Muñiz and successful Quebec competitor Linda Robert are also part of the team.
“To know that Jacquie has confidence in her horse’s health and fitness, thanks in part to one of our products, as she prepares for the Olympic Games is a tremendous honour,” said Francis Berger, Cavalor Canada’s Director, Business Development. “We wish Jacquie and Gran Gesto the best of luck in their Olympic debut.”
